Signs of Tooth Eruption in Infants (MADOHC) - Lupine Publishers

 

Introduction: As important as it is, tooth eruption is a matter of difficulty for both parents and children. Note that maintaining the health of teeth and gums in the child is the basis of the health of his teeth and gums for whole life. Teeth eruption is one of the most important stages of the growth, and through this stage, the baby will be able to have chewable foods. Commonly, there is a timetable for each primary tooth to erupt in the mouth. Signs of infant’s teeth eruption include disturbances in sleep and night-time wakening, mouth-watering, redness of cheeks, chewing fingers and objects, swollen gums, child malaise, bad temper, and the appearance of tooth buds [1-3]. In this article, we refer to any of these cases.

Maurice Roy’s Protest (MADOHC)-Lupine Publishers

Opinion:Maurice Roy was born on 24 December 1866. At 14, he entered a dental surgery as an apprentice technician. In 1884, he enrolled at the Dental School of Paris where he was awarded his diploma in 1886. He became a tenured teacher in 1900. He passed his baccalaureate. He then started medical studies. In order to meet his own needs, he worked as a dentist. He was exempted from military service because of his myopia; he was able to devote himself to writing his thesis he sustained in 1894. When the Dreyfus Affair broke out, at the cries of Zola in J’Accuse! published in 1898, he signed the petition for the rehabilitation of the captain. Having contributed towards the creation of FDI World Dental Federation in 1901, he became a member of its executive body in 1904, then its vice-president in 1911. He was re-elected to the post in 1936. In 1902 he founded the French Dentists Cooperative Society (Cooperative Society of Dentists of France), which supplied equipments to the practitioners of the country. In 1914 he created the relief committee for the wounded to the jaws and the face (Relief Committee of the wounded of the jaws and the face). He dedicated himself: he established surgical and prosthetic rehabilitation protocols that were used by other centers. In 1915 he created the Fraternal aid for French and Belgian war victims dentists (Fraternal help to French dentists and Belgian victims of war). In 1923 he took the lead of The Odontology magazine. Roy made it a key player in dentistry of that time. Every themes were subjectively studied. In 1928 he left the public welfare [1-3].

Comparative Evaluation of the Irradiance Emitted by Different Methods of Photopolymerization (MADOHC)-Lupine Publishers

Introduction: To obtain success in the polymerization of restorative materials, obtaining a quality, it is necessary a light curing device and this in turn must be in proper operation. It is to be known that some other factors will influence these restorations as the emission and intensity of the light, adequate time of exposure and correct wavelength. Most of the three methods of light curing are used: High intensity in continuous light (High), increasing intensity (Soft-Start) and low (Low) intensity. The alteration between the above methods according to the time of exposure may cause different effects and should be chosen according to the need of the restorative procedure to be performed.

Atypical Implant Failure (MADOHC) - Lupine Publishers

With an average survival rate of 95%, the endosseous dental implant is one of the most successful and predictable innovations in modern dentistry. The factors contributing to the success, and failure, of dental implants are now well-established [1-6] and include the oral and systemic health of the patient, patient age, implant type, implant surface, implant length, bone type, surgical site (mandible or maxilla), type of surgery (one- or two-stage) and immediate (fresh socket) or delayed implant placement. Other important aspects regarding the success of an implant include the skill, experience and, apparently gender, of the surgeon [7]. Early implant failures, a prevalence of about 5.6%, most often is observed in edentulous upper jaws, notably with implants having a turned surface. There is some controversy as to whether pre- and post-operative antibiotic coverage is needed, but overall antibiotic therapy can be helpful but apparently is only essential when infection is present.

To Evaluate Different Soft Tissue Liners, as Functional Impression Materials, by Determining its Effect on Surface Roughness of Dental Stone Over a Time Period: An In-Vitro Study by Swapnil B Shankargouda in Modern Approaches in Dentistry and Oral Health Care- Lupine Publishers

To evaluate, compare and contrast the changes in surface roughness of dental stone casts, recovered from commercially available chair-side soft liners, used as functional impression materials. Ten disk-shaped denture soft liner samples [18 mm wide × 2 mm thick] were fabricated and dental stone poured over it after zero hours [control], one day, seven days, fourteen days and twenty one days, with a total sample size of 100 obtained from GC SOFT LINER [50 samples] and MOLLOSIL [50 samples] respectively.The dental stone samples were then evaluated for mean surface roughness values [Ra] using a profilometer.Student’s paired t test [p<0.05] and Co-efficient of variance [C.V] test was used for statistical analysis. The mean surface roughness values of MOLLOSIL samples increased gradually and consistently over the period of zero hours to twenty-one days in comparison to the GC SOFT LINER samples.Within the limitations of this study, silicone-based soft tissue liner showed better results than the acrylic-based soft liner in terms of surface roughness, over the period of zero hours to twenty-one days.
