Legislation for Teeth Brushing: Don't Brush the Occlusal Surface (Biting Surface) of Molar and Premolar Teeth - (MADOHC)- Lupine Publishers

Opinion: Human and animals break food particles by cutting and crushing them amides of upper and lower teeth. It is clear that this mechanical action can partly cause abrasion of the occlusal surface (biting surface) of teeth. In some animals like rabbit, this abrasion is very rapid and intense because of tight food. To compensate for this wear these animals have teeth that grow continuously [1]. Although human meal usually is not so hard; but Human is not an exception of teeth abrasion during chewing food. One obvious evidence for this is absence of dental plaque on the biting surface in people who don't brush their teeth. Although this people don't brush, there is no dental plaque in biting surface of their teeth. They have plaque just in surfaces far from the biting area. Anyway, this abrasion by food is so slight that cannot easily cause wear of enamel of teeth; but additional abrasive agents can cause serious damage to the enamel. One of these additional abrasive agents can be the toothbrush especially in obsessive persons. Teeth brushing are a difficult and overwhelming action for children. For this reason, they usually tend to brush the easily accessible surfaces of teeth (occlusal surface); But this unconscious action can not damage the enamel of teeth in children. Because children end brushing very soon.

Looking at Patients and Listening to Patients in Time of Technological Innovation(MADOHC) - Lupine Publishers 

Introduction: We are in a globalized world, with fast and extensive changes, particularly in the appropriate use of technology in medical problems. The search for early diagnosis and treatment goes through a range of increasingly complex exams and interventions, based on technological advances. Smart phone interaction has the potential to improve clinical case discussion, for example. However some controversies persist: Are these advances also associated with patients satisfaction with quality of care received, according to their needs and perspectives? Several factors affecting negatively the effective communication between patients and health professionals as the limitations imposed by listeners and difficulty developing language skills and understanding. In the context of what has been described previously, looking at the individual and effectively understanding beyond first impressions represents one of the fundamental basis for healthcare, but not usually. Listening is presented as another essential communication strategy for relationship between health professional and their patients. It is considered therapeutic because of the reduction of anxieties, stress and suffering of the assisted, by the dialogue. Therefore is very important a qualified listening and embracement in health practice. Technological resources must be expanded and improved, increasing our interpersonal relationship.

Our need to evaluate the distribution and the quality of occlusal forces is of a growing importance along with our growing knowledge of the masticatory system's sensational perception in the Central Nervous System, keeping in mind that the CNS potential adaptation is of a limited capacity and this is related to some individual factors of the patient (age is a major factor).

Do you really know what Periodontal Disease is? by Jose Ricardo Kina in Modern Approaches in Dentistry and Oral Health Care in Lupine Publishers

The etiology includes the sum of evidences related to the causes of a disease. Majority of all forms of periodontal diseases, are considered as microorganisms-induced dependent. However, it is improbable that bacteria alone cause periodontal disease. The etiological concept of the inflammatory periodontal disease is an exceedingly complex interaction of bacteria and predisposing risk factors. The predisposing risk factor may be an inherent characteristic associated with an increased rate of a subsequently occurring disease, but does not necessarily cause the disease. In periodontal disease, the predisposing risk factors may be defined as local environmental factors, behavioral factors in nature and systemic factors, which may be responsible in providing an ideal environment for bacterial colonization and/or fragility in a determinate tooth or teeth and adjacent periodontal tissues and/ or interference in the inflammatory process. Local environmental factor may interfere in the fragile equilibrium of the gingival sulcus defense by favoring microbial colonization and growth or/and altering the local susceptibility of the periodontal tissues to be damaged by the bacterial onslaught.
